Comstock defeats Cass girls in consolation contest

BANGOR – A slow start kept the Cassopolis girls basketball team from a shot at defeating Comstock in the consolation game of the Bangor Holiday Tournament Friday.

The Rangers (4-6) were outscored 10-1 in the opening quarter and never recovered as the Colts went on to win 49-27.

Comstock led 24-9 at halftime and 34-19 heading into the final quarter.

Brittney Prestly had seven points to lead Cassopolis, which also got six points each from Janye Butts and Jade Gatson.

Ashley Cross led Comstock with 14 points. Jenna Munn added 12.
