Principal Mike Campbell is still the new guy at Sister Lakes and already his school has taken part in a Guinness World Record.

Two hundred Sister Lakes students K-5 participated Nov. 16, adding a new celebrity scooter relay with PTO parents, music teacher Tara Fletcher, Campbell and physical education teacher Gail Gersonde.

More than 2,600 schools and organizations representing some 30 countries from around the world registered, according to the World Sport Stacking Association.

There were 620 stackers at J. Larry Newton School in Fairhope, Ala., when the new mark was achieved.

At 1:59 p.m. MST on that Friday, the previous year’s record of 412,259 fell.

The new record is still being determined.
