Southwestern Michigan College is hosting College Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. All high school juniors and seniors and their parents, as well as current SMC students, are invited to attend to learn about higher-education opportunities, its programs and campuses.

Representatives from more than 40 colleges and universities as well as armed services will have tables set up in the Student Activity Center in the Charles O. Zollar Building on SMC’s Dowagiac campus. Attendees are urged to use the parking lot off of Dailey Road.

Also scheduled to take part in the event are representatives from the armed forces and training providers who will detail what’s available at technical schools and how military service can help pay for a college education.

Financial aid workshops will be held at 6:45 and 7:30 p.m. in the Student Activity Center theatre. The workshops will cover scholarships, student loans and the kinds of financial assistance available from federal and state government.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants include Adrian College, Andrews University, Ball State University, Bethel College, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, Indiana University/South Bend, Kendall College of Art & Design, Lake Superior State University, Michigan State University, Purdue University, Saint Mary’s College, Trine University, University of Michigan and Western Michigan University.
