Free boater safety classes, led by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department Marine Division, will take place this summer at locations throughout the county.
Pre-registration is required by e-mailing marinediv@berriencounty.org with name, date of birth, address and phone number.
The classes will take place the following dates:
• July 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Buchanan Township Fire Station, 15301 North Main St., Buchanan
• July 30 and Aug. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Berrien County Sheriff’s Department Training Facility, 7110 Angling Rd., Coloma
Those born after Dec. 31, 1978 must have in their possession a valid Boater Safety Certificate in order to operate personal watercrafts in Michigan.
