CASSOPOLIS — At 11 a.m. Tuesday, 200 Midwest Energy Cooperative members remain without service after an early morning storm crossed the southwest Michigan service territory. The majority of the remaining outages are in the Lawton area.

Crews will remain in the field until all outages are restored.

Transmission had been lost to two substations, leaving more than 4,000 in the dark, primarily in Cass and Van Buren counties, including 54 in Cassopolis, one in Dowagiac, one in Niles and three in Decatur.

Crews were dispatched to work on distribution system outages as officials await information from the transmission provider about restoration of the substations.
