Fraud seminar open to public

Berrien-Cass Legal Support Professionals is hosting a seminar open to the public, “Exploiting and Fraud Perpetration of the Elderly,” at Orchard Hills Country Club, 2841 Niles-Buchanan Rd., Buchanan.

Steve Chambers, program manager for Long-term Ombudsman Services and Elder Abuse Prevention and Education Adult Well-Being Services; Arthur Cotter, Berrien County prosecuting attorney; and Ernie Riggs, general services program manager/contract administrator, Michigan Department of Human Services, will be presenting valuable information for attorneys and support staff as well as the general public. Chambers was previously a manger of an adult foster care home and admissions director at a nursing facility.

Handouts will be provided. There will be giveaways and prizes for prospective members.

Cocktails and networking begins at 5:30 p.m.; dinner, 6 p.m.; and the seminar, 7:15 p.m.

Dinner is $12 for members and $17 for guests. A cash bar will be available. Attendees of the seminar are not required to eat dinner, but registration is required.
