HEAVENER Tuesday, Heavener enjoyed an early lead in its LeFlore County Tournament game but the Lady Wolves were unable to hold on to it.
Wednesday, the opposite effect took place.
The Lady Wolves trailed Talihina early on before going on a big run en route to a 54-43 win. Heavener will meet Howe on Friday in the fifth-place game.
The Panama Razorbacks also bounced back, topping Howe 70-54 for a spot in Friday's fifth-place game.
Leading Heavener's comeback charge were their three double-figure scorers: Guard Leslie Underwood and forwards Farron Freeman and Kelsey Kincaid. They combined for 28 of the Lady Wolves' 32 first-half points. Underwood also had three of her four 3-pointers in the opening half.
Heavener scored the first seven points in Tuesday's tournament quarterfinal against Pocola before the Lady Indians rallied for an eventual double-digit win.
Hailey Blagg led Talihina with 14 points.
Panama 70, Howe 54
BOYS The Razorbacks had a hot start beyond the arc and continued to shoot the ball well in their win Wednesday. Panama advances to meet Talihina for the fifth-place championship Friday.
In the opening quarter, Panama hit five 3-point baskets, as the Razorbacks would eventually build a 24-10 lead. Even though Panama hit only one 3-pointer over the final three periods, the Razorbacks went inside and hit several jumpers to keep their lead at a solid pace, as they bounced back from Tuesday's quarterfinal loss to Poteau.
Panama had three players hit double figures, with Brad Jackson leading the way with 20 points. He also accounted for half of the Razorbacks' six 3-pointers. Tim Bunting and Roger Hoffman added 12 and 11 points.
The Lions also had three players in double figures, with Jacob Thomas scoring 18 points, which included hitting four 3-pointers. Barnhart scored 16 points while Colton Williams had 11.

Arkoma 31
GIRLS LeFlore raced to a sizable lead early and kept building it throughout. The Lady Savages advance to today's consolation final.
Tasha Raymond scored all 12 of her team-high points in the opening half. Krysta Rushing led Arkoma with 11 points, which included hitting three 3-pointers.
Bokoshe 62, Arkoma 46
BOYS Three Bokoshe players hit double figures as the Tigers move on to play in today's consolation final.
Michael Monroe scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the first half to lead the Tigers. Dustin Parker added 15, while Eric Ralls poured in 13.
Josh Godsby led the Mustangs with 17 points, while Michael Harmon had 15.
