EDWARDSBURG -- In order for both groups to hear U. S. Congressman Fred Upton last Wednesday evening, the Edwardsburg Lions and members of the Chamber of Commerce combined their meetings at the American Legion Post.
During the annual chamber dinner, the gavel was handed over from President Tony Koontz of the Edwardsburg Public Schools to the new president Carl Higley, Sr.
Having such a busy distinguished guest was easy for Koontz, as Upton explained the two grew up nearby in St. Joseph. Koontz presented Upton with the "History of Edwardsburg."
In other Chamber business:
Higley, who also represented the Lions, said a dozen roses could be purchased for $20 from the Lions for delivery on April 17.
