Don’t be startled by an invasion of vintage race cars Saturday.
A Ford Model-T Speedsters group based in Paw Paw is bringing 35 of the little two-seaters, some almost 100 years old, to town on June 18.
Cars are coming from seven states, including Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin an Illinois, coordinator John Williams of Gravel Lake, Lawton, said Monday evening.
Williams said the Speedsters, built between 1914 and 1928, last visited Dowagiac five years ago.
Their annual four-day tour will take them all over southwest Michigan, including the Hartford racetrack Saturday afternoon, following lunch at the Wounded Minnow and a visit to the National Heddon Museum.
During the stop here, parking is being set aside in the Depot Drive parking lot along the railroad tracks to accommodate the visitors.
This is the second time this year an auto group has included the Grand Old City on its tour.
