A life flipped upside down

What a journey our family has been and is still going through.

Brenden Haas

We would like to give a personal thank-you to all of our family and friends who have stood by our side over the past few months.

As many of you know, our son Brenden was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor back in November.

When he fell at our home it was then that our lives have been changed forever.

The outpouring of love, cards, well wishes, prayers, thoughts and money have been overwhelming, but definitely needed.

We would like to say thank you to each and every single one of you who has helped our family during this time.

We cannot believe how well the bake sales, the spaghetti dinner, silent auction, T-shirt sales, bracelet sales and the donation cans have done.

We are very proud to live in this community.

We know just about everybody and it feels good to go out and about and feel the love.

A small town does have its benefits and this is proven even more with our story.

Please know that Brenden is doing well but will need continued medical care the rest of his life.

He is at Mary Free Bed again in Grand Rapids for acute rehab.

Myself or my husband are always with him.

They do predict him to walk and possibly do stairs.

He is participating in all his therapies and being so strong, mentally and physically.

He had begun schooling and some recreational therapy also.

There is a MRI scheduled for April 11 to see where the tumor is at after seven weeks of radiation/chemo.

He is also scheduled the week of April 25 to begin his triple dose of chemo.

If you have Facebook, please check out his page.

It is spelled Brenden Haas.

Once his page is brought up, click on the notes section on the left hand side and then you can trace back to the very beginning.

There are two other pages out there with his name on them.

They are titled “Prayers for Brenden Haas” and “We love you Brenden Haas.”

These pages were created by his loving friends from school.

We have tried our best to keep everyone up to date with his progress.

Once again, a heart-felt thank you to everybody for the support for our family.

We love to hear, see, and feel the love.

Eric, Anita, Bradley, Brenden, Bailey and Brady Haas
