“In Retrospect,” the spring dance concert at Southwestern Michigan College, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. April 15 and 16 in the theater of the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac campus.
The program will feature performances celebrating a decade of dance at the college, including new works by student choreographers Hannah Oliver, Chelsea Laylin, Lindsay Heidenreich, Tyrell Hunt and Sydney Harner.
In addition, two collaborative projects titled “Voices” and “Identities,” will be highlighted.
The interdisciplinary work will integrate writing, the spoken word, music and movement.
“‘Voices’ is a moving tribute to military veterans and the men and women who currently are defending our freedom,” explained instructor Beth Labaren-Root.
“‘Identities’ explores the human development of self concept and personal identity.”
Tickets cost $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors and free for those 18 years and under.
