DECATUR — Gordon P. Phillips, 71, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at home.

Gordon was born April 22, 1939, in Niles, the son of Millard and Lucile (Rose) Phillips.

He farmed in Decatur for several years.

He had served in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Phillips was an avid Decatur Raider football fan, former Hamilton Township supervisor and a former member of the JLPA and of Dowagiac Conservation Club.

He married Mary Sue Davis June 29, 1962, in Sturgis, S.D.

His wife survives, along with: two sons, Todd (Tawnee) Phillips of Decatur and Dan (Lucia) Phillips of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Lakeland Hospice.
