CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his deputies handled a personal-injury crash on Peavine Street, just east of Sink Road in Pokagon Township, at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday, March 2.

A vehicle driven by 29-year-old Donald Sartin of Dowagiac was westbound on Peavine Street when he swerved to miss a deer.

His vehicle rolled over and hit a tree.

He sustained injuries, but was treated and released at the scene of the crash.

Coloma ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.

Deputies said alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remained under investigation.
