DMS eighth grade volleyball teams fall

The Dowagiac Middle School girls’ volleyball team suffered a tough loss Wednesday night against Three Rivers.

The Orange squad lost 25-15, 25-19 and 15-8 to the Lady Wildcats.

Emily Roach, Hazel Kennedy and Katie Ward scored a combined 10 service points.
The Black squad fell to Three Rivers 25-19, 25-19 and 15-4.

Madison Proshwitz had eight service points, while Brianna McCuddy had a strong presence at the net.

Eighth grade football
The eighth grade football team defeated Vicksburg 26-0 on Tuesday night.

Davion Highsmith led the Chieftains with three touchdowns – two rushing and one pass reception from Nate Lindsey.

Jacob Chapman had a pair of extra points.

Defensively, the Chieftains were led by Shane Bevins, Gilbert Lopez and Travis Edwards.

Edwards and Highsmith both had an interception.

Seventh grade football
The Dowagiac seventh grade football team edged Vicksburg 8-0.

The Chieftains got the game’s lone touchdown from Brice Dodd, who also ran for 110 yards.

Rolando Lucio added 125 yards on the ground and scored the 2-point conversion for Dowagiac.

Defensively, the Chieftains held the Bulldogs to minus 220 yards in total offense.
