Third Ward Councilman Leon Laylin offered Mayor Don Lyons’ appointment of James Dodd to Dowagiac City Council for confirmation Monday night.

Dodd will serve a term expiring in August 2012.

Laylin tendered the appointment in the absence of Mayor Pro Tem Wayne Comstock.
Also absent were Second Ward Councilman Bob Schuur, hospitalized with an infection, and City Attorney Mark Westrate.
