Leave it to tattoo artists to get creative in giving back to the community.

Paparazzi Tattoos, which opened last year in Niles, is offering a $20 discount on tattoos and a $10 savings on piercings for those who bring in a donation for the Ferry Street Resource Center.

Dubbed “Toys for Tats,” the drive aims to gather toys and warm clothing for those in need.

The tattoo shop started the program last year with good success.

“We did really well,” tattoo artist Brett Thompson said. “The whole front lobby was filled with toys and clothing donations for the kids.”

Thompson said the employees at Paparazzi wanted to find a way to connect with the community when the shop opened.

“We’re new in Niles. We wanted to so something for the community we work and live in,” he said.

“Toys for Tats” began in October and will run through Dec. 21.

Paparazzi Tattoos is open seven days a week from noon until midnight. It is located at 408 South 11th St.
