Murray and Lois Telsworth

TelsworthMurray and Lois Telsworth, of Edwardsburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 6, 2010. They were married June 4, 1960 in Lake Orion, Mich., the bride’s hometown.

Lois Holliday (Bates) Telsworth is a graduate of Lake Orion High School and attended Huntington College in Huntington, Ind. She graduated from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in Flint, Mich. as a registered nurse. Lois held various nursing positions for more than 40 years and retired in 2003 from the Elkhart County Health Department.

Murray graduated from Ortonville High School in Ortonville, Mich. He was employed by the Michigan Department of Conservation employed in administration of various state parks and county parks and recreation systems for nearly 40 years. Murray has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Central Michigan College. Upon retirement, he became the director of physical plant and facilities for Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor for 10 years. He then worked part-time at Bethel College Mishawaka in security in 2006.

Murry and Lois have done extensive traveling including cruises, and have spend years doing mission work for their church in the southern states in the winter.

The Telsworths are members of First Missionary Church, Niles and lifelong members in the Missionary church.

They have a son, Rodney (Laura) Telsworth, of Centreville, Mich.; daughters, Cindy Bennett, of South Bend, Cherie (Marcus) Lynch, of Battle Creek, Mich. and Law Kelly Erickson, of Portland, Ore. They have 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

The family is planning a celebration at First Missionary Church, 33332 U.S. 12 and Bell Road, Niles on Sunday, June 6 from 2 to 5 p.m.
