Katie Shaffer and Chad Jankoviak, both of Niles have announced their engagement and forthcoming marriage. The couple will be married July 17, 2010 at The Old Rugged Cross Church in Pokagon, Mich.

Parents of the bride-to-be are Carol (Black) House; the late Robert “Bobby” Shaffer; and stepfather Todd House, of Niles. Maternal grandparents are Carol Mooney and Barry Mooney, of Niles. Paternal grandparents are Donna Shaffer and Richard “Dick” Shaffer, of Berrien Center, Mich.

Parents of the groom-to-be are Toni (Atkinson) Jankoviak and Jon Jankoviak, of Niles. Maternal grandparents are Judy Atkinson and the late William Atkinson, of Buchanan. Paternal grandparents are Kathy (Payne) Jankoviak and Jon Jankoviak, of Niles.

Katie is a graduate of Brandywine High School. Chad is a graduate of Ferris State University.
