A four-run sixth inning and a five-run seventh gave visiting Parchment the championship of the Brandywine Round Robin on Saturday.

The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead into the top of the sixth, but two errors, a walk, a hit batter and two run-scoring doubles turned that deficit into a 4-1 lead for the Panthers.

Parchment, which defeated New Buffalo in the second game of the day 19-0, added five runs in the top of the fifth after Brandywine had cut the lead to 4-2 with a run in the bottom half of the sixth.

Dustin Bell pitched well through five-plus innings, but took the loss.

Brandywine finished with five hits, including RBI doubles from Derek Nichols and Ralph Sater.

Cody Udell had a pair of hits for the Bobcats.

Jay Topp had a pair of doubles and four RBIs for the Panthers. Bo Britigan also doubled.
Brandywine won the opening game of the tournament over New Buffalo 8-0.

The Bobcats scored a run in the first and five runs in the fourth. Two more runs crossed the plate in the sixth for Brandywine.

Kyle King went the distance, allowing just two hits. He struck out eight and walked only one.

The Bobcats had six hits in the contest, led by Udell, who had a pair of doubles and two RBIs.

Sater had two hits and an RBI, while Nichols singled and drove in a run.

“It’s a work in progress,” Brandywine coach David Sidenbender said. “But we’ll get it done. Right now we are just now sure of what pitches we want to swing at.
“Pitching was good all day for us. Kyle pitched great and Dustin did what he had to do. If we could have made a play behind him he would have still been pitching and we would have still been winning,” he added.
