It’s so far, so good for the new downtown business Flo N Grow, located just off of Main Street in downtown Niles on Second Street.

Owner Bradley Batemen, who spoke to the Star a little more than a month ago, said “people have been coming in” to check out what the shop provides when it comes to indoor gardening.

The shop has just about everything one might need to start an indoor garden, whether their passion is vegetables or specific florals.

Batemen brought the business to Niles recognizing “a great demand to start growing your own food.”

Inside Flo N Grow customers can find hydroponic growing systems and even see them in action.
Bateman has lettuce and tomato plants growing in side the shop as well as a mini rose bush.
“We kind of specialize in all indoor gardening,” he said.

Customers can find a variety of organic seeds that Bateman said has been a hit with customers including area garden clubs.

Also available are a variety of nutrients and fertilizers and organic soils.

Bateman said anyone interested in getting an indoor garden of their own started can come in and not only get their questions answered but find just about everything they need at the store.

“We could set them up with everything they need,” he said. “I would say it’s pretty easy. They’re easy to fix.”

And those interested, he said, might find themselves with a new hobby on their hands.
“It’s kind of addictive,” he said. “It’s a lot of fun.
