Shoplifting arrest

NILES -- Niles City Police officers were dispatched to Martin's Supermarket for a group of shoplifters on Friday, Dec. 19.
An employee of the store observed two male subjects sitting in front of the magazine rack eating a donut.
The two minors were stopped at the exit after passing the cash register without paying for the donut.
They admitted to taking and eating the donut without paying for it.
They were transported to the station and booked for retail fraud.
In other police activity:
Police were notified that one male was walking west on Regent Street and the two other males got into a vehicle and headed toward Oak Street.
Upon arriving officers observed an older Dodge Daytona heading toward Oak Street with no registration plate.
Upon seeing the police, the vehicle pulled quickly to the side of the road and parked.
The officer activated his overhead lights and shined his spotlight on the vehicle.
The officer noticed some movemnt inside the car and as he approached the driver's side of the vehicle, he observed one male in the front passenger seat and one in the rear seat.
He asked the men who was driving and they stated that the driver ran out of the vehicle.
The officer told them that he was behind them and never observed anyone leave the vehicle and he also notified them that there were no footprints in the fresh snow.
Adrian Dimarco Wade, 30, of1403 Iowa St. in South Bend, Ind., then admitted that he was driving the car.
Wade was arrested for an outstanding warrant and the passenger was released.
The vehicle is being held for proper registration and proof of insurance.
