THREE RIVERS – There was a change at the top of the Wolverine Conference standings on Friday at Sauganash Golf Club.

Vicksburg and Dowagiac have been two of the key players so far this season, but Otsego jumped up and took the top spot in Friday’s jamboree after shooting 156 as a team.

The Bulldogs were second with a 157 and the Chieftains third with a 161. Gull Lake and Paw Paw rounded out the top five with a 167 and a 174 respectively.

The switch didn’t really shuffle the overall standings that much.

Vicksburg remains on top and now leads Dowagiac by four points, 47-43. Gull Lake is now tied with Otsego with 39 points in third place, while Plainwell remains fifth with 31 points.

A pair of Bulldogs, one from Vicksburg and the other from Otsego, shared medalist honors on Friday.

Jason Vanderklok of Vicksburg and Jesse Westhoff of Otsego both shot 36.

Dowagiac was led by Max Howe and Jordan Juday, both of whom shot 39. Chris Craft finished with a 40.

Kyle Ward and Cody Fairleigh both finished at 43.

The Dowagiac junior varsity (1-1) defeated Berrien Springs 188-256.

Joey Gajewski led Dowagiac with a 44. Gaige Grant shot 45, Marc Tyrakowski 49, Anthony Nelson 50, Paul Lamphere 51 and Cam Ruff 51.
