With a 49-33 win at Lakeshore Tuesday night, the Niles varsity basketball team clinched its second Big-16 Conference West Division title in the past three years.
The Vikings improved to 15-3 overall and 7-0 in the West Division.
Junior point guard Amber Peters paced the Vikings with 13 points, five assists and three steals.
Sophomore forward Sarah Dreher registered her seventh double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Senior forward Jessica Johnson led the team with 14 rebounds.
Niles had 45 rebounds as a team and held Lakeshore's leading scorer, Jull Mummaw, to seven points.
Niles travels to St. Joseph Tuesday, Nov. 11, for the final West Division contest and will take on the No. 2 team from the Central Division in the Big-16 Challenge Game on Thursday, Nov. 13. The site of that game is yet to be determined.

Brandywine better than .500 after non-league win
The Brandywine varsity basketball team has won five of itslast six games after beating Lawrence 53-46 Tuesday night in non-conference action.
Emily Whitney paced the Bobcats, now 9-8, with 21 points.
Judy Schlutt added 11 and Kalie Newman helped out with nine points.
Kristen White led Lawrence, also 9-8, with 12 points.
Brandywine travels to Lakeland Conference leader Bridgman Thursday evening.
The Bobcats are 6-6 in the league while Bridgman is 15-2 overall and 10-2 in the Lakeland.

Bridgman closes in on Lakeland championship
Bridgman ended Buchanan's chances at winning the Lakeland Conference title outright Tuesday night with a 47-38 win over the Bucks.
The Bees are now 15-2 overall and 10-2 in league play while Buchanan slipped to 11-7 and 8-4. The Bucks host Edwardsburg Thursday night and travel to Brandywine Tuesday, Nov. 13.
Heather Seyfred led all scorers Tuesday with 17 points for the Bees. Melani Demler added 11 points.
Ali Bender paced the Bucks with 16 points and Dee Dee Thompson helped out with 10. Leading scorer Ashlee Layher was held to eight points.
