CASSOPOLIS – Carl Jackson, 24, of Dowagiac, was sentenced to 300 days in jail with credit for 136 already served for charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and attempt to interfere with electronic communication.

In October 2009, Jackson forcibly entered his girlfriend Regina Northrop’s house, after finding out she had kicked him out of her house. He then assaulted her, choking her to the point that she blacked out. Jackson also took away her cell phone when she tried to call police.
