Dowagiac Department of Public Safety Director Tom Atkinson reports the city Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at the Wash Shed, located in the 56000 block of M-51.

The robbery occurred Monday, March 1, around 7:58 p.m.

The suspect is described as a  black male, over six feet tall, possibly in his 20s,  very thin, wearing a dark blue jacket, dark blue skull/stocking cap and a blue/white bandana over his face.

The suspect used a handgun during the robbery and was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation.
