Ring Lardner volleyball teams open up season

The Ring Lardner Gold and Blue seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams opened their respective seasons Tuesday night.

The seventh and eighth grade Gold teams traveled to Cass.

The seventh grade Gold team was defeated in three games, 21-25, 23-25 and 8-15.

Coach Jean Storm was pleased with everyone trying their best in the first contest of the season.
The eighth Gold defeated Cass 25-21, 25-11 and 15-10.

Coach Cheri Schaller was pleased with the team’s effort, specifically in serving, defensive play, and hitting.

The Gold teams are back in action today when they travel to Coloma.

The seventh and eighth grade Blue teams hosted Edwardsburg.

The seventh grade Blue team defeated Edwardsburg in all three sets, 25-6, 25-11, 15-6.
“Serving, communication, and quality passing were the keys to the contest,” as mentioned by Coach Nic Hawley.

The eighth grade pulled out a come from behind win against Edwardsburg. After dropping the first set, 22-25, the Lady Jr. Vikes came back to win the second and third sets, 25-8 and 15-10 respectively.

Coach Bev Neto was happy with her team’s effort, specifically in serving, net play, and defensive play. The seventh and eighth grade Blue teams next play this Saturday at the Buchanan Quad Tournament.
