Wrestlers, spikers head to Kalamazoo

If you are looking for something to do on Saturday and a short road trip to Kalamazoo sounds good, you can find the Dowagiac wrestling and volleyball teams there.
The Chieftain wrestlers will be taking part in the Big 16 Conference Wrestling Tournament at Portage Central High School beginning at 9 a.m.
The varsity volleyball team will be across town at Loy Norrix High School participating in an invitational tournament.
The wrestling tournament is an individual format.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students (K-5).
The volleyball tournament is also scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with pool play.
Dowagiac will be in the Red Pool with Loy Norrix, Benton Harbor, Parchment and Battle Creek Lakeview.
The Pink Pool will have Lakeshore, Kalamazoo Hackett, No. 10 ranked Battle Creek Central (Class A), Brighton and No. 4 ranked Mendon (Class D) in it.
The Chieftains will face Loy Norrix in the first game at 9 a.m.
Pool play will be two games of rally scoring to 20.
The championship round will be the best of three format with rally scoring to 20. A third game will be capped at 15.
