Students raise $10K in walk-a-thon

Sam Adams Elementary School students raised more than $10,000 for the Cassopolis PTO during its annual

Sam Adams Elementary students were awarded $20 Visa gift cards Friday: Ryli Burks, Anna Leach, Remy Lane, Lilly Yeater and Austin Ottman.

Walk-A-Thon Oct. 7.

Students and classes who raised the most money were recognized with prizes during an assembly Friday afternoon in the gym.
All Sam Adams students received a sticky hands prize; some top fundraisers were also awarded homework passes or bracelets and pencils.
Kelly Gustafson’s fourth grade class raised the most with $1,196. One class in each grade will get a pizza party for its efforts.
The top individual fundraisers were Madison Suseland, first; Kendrick Keosacky, second; and Danny Young Jr., third.
The more than $10,000 total is an estimate of how much the PTO will receive after prizes were doled out.

Kindergarten — Mrs. Newland’s class (raised $310)

Sam Adams Elementary students were recognized Friday for participating in the Walk-A-Thon for the PTO. Three received Visa gift cards from TCU. The top winner was Madison Suseland, $100; second, Kendrick Keosacky, $75; and Danny Young Jr., $50.

First grade — Mrs. Burns’ class (raised $509)

Second grade — Mrs. Mark’s class (raised $659.20)

Third grade — Mrs. Griffioen’s class (raised $814.75)

Fourth grade — Mrs. Gustafson’s class (raised $1,196)

Fifth grade — Mrs. Gorham’s class (raised $793.95)

Sixth grade — Mr. Burns’ class (raised $524)

The Lewis-Cass ISD classes also participated. All 558 students received a prize.
