Cass County Great Start Parent Coalition has recognized nine local businesses as being “family friendly.”
In Cassopolis there is Porky’s Party Place, Midwest Energy and Harding’s.  In Dowagiac there is Who Knew Consignment, Zekes, Pamida, Dr. Bouchard with Borgess Lee Pediatrics and D & R Sports.  In Marcellus there is The Wild Patch.
These Cass County businesses have received a window decal award because they meet the family-friendly criteria.  Some examples of this criteria are:  restrooms with changing stations, diaper dispensers, allowing strollers in the business, automatic opening doors, high chairs, giving back to the community and more (businesses only need to meet four of the criteria to qualify).
Parents are encouraged to nominate a business that meets minimum standards to be recognized.  The nomination forms can be found on the Cass County Great Start website www.greatstart-cass.org.
