Eleazer has big night as Rangers roll past Bangor

BANGOR – Quarterback Steven Eleazer amassed 286 yards of total offense as Cassopolis throttled Bangor 60-12 in its season opener Friday night.

Eleazer had 99 yards rushing on eight carries, was 3-for-3 passing for 68 yards and returned two kickoffs and a punt for another 119 yards.

He also scored a touchdown and threw a scoring pass for Cassopolis, which finished with 718 yards in total offense.

The Rangers rushed for an amazing 531 yards, had 68 yards passing and 119 yards in returns.

DaShaun Curtis led the rushing attack with 119 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.

Marcus Ruff added 116 yards on 10 totes and scored three times, while Jackson Conner had 66 yards on nine carries with a score.

Evan Brown also had a touchdown for the Rangers.

Curtis caught two passes for 36 yards and Austin Los hauled in the 32-yard touchdown pass from Eleazer.

Defensively the Rangers gave up just 246 yards in total offense.

Cassopolis is back to work on Thursday night as they travel to St. Joseph High School to take on Lake Michigan Catholic.
