2 injured in 13th and Oak crash

Daily Star photo/KATIE ROHMAN A woman and her juvenile granddaughter were injured in a two-car crash at 13th and Oak streets Saturday afternoon.

Two people were injured in a two-car crash at 13th and Oak streets at approximately 4:10 p.m. Saturday.

According to a person involved in the accident, who refused to give her name, she was traveling north with her grandson on 13th Street; she had a green light.

The other vehicle, which contained a juvenile and her grandmother, was facing south on 13th Street and turned east onto Oak Street, reportedly in front of the other vehicle. The grandmother and granddaughter sustained injuries and were transported via ambulance to the hospital. No people in the other vehicle were injured.

Both vehicles sustained front-end damage and were towed.

The supervising Niles Police Department officer at the scene could not give further information.

The Niles Fire Department, Michigan State Police Niles Post and Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
