Brandywine gets past Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE — Visiting Brandywine squared its season record at 8-8 with a 54-47 non-conference boys basketball win over Eau Claire Monday might.

The Bobcats led 14-11 after one quarter and 27-19 by halftime.

Brandywine took a 10-point advantage (35-25) into the final quarter.

Mykal Toxopeus led the Bobcats with 14 points, while Brad Kline added eight. Brandywine was 16-of-22 from the free throw line and had six 3-pointers, including two by Pierce Gleason.

Antonio Lewis led the Beavers (8-7) with 18 points. Corey Young finished with 12 points.

Eau Claire nearly matched the Bobcats from the 3-point line as it finished with five, four of which were by Lewis. However, the Beavers only made six trips to the foul line, connected on just two.

Brandywine will now play host to Edwardsburg in a Lakeland Conference clash Friday night.
