Due to the heavy rain event the area experienced on July 9, 202, an overflow event was recorded at the Dowagiac Wastewater Treatment Plant. Approximately 12,000 gallons of treated wastewater overflowed the treatment tanks onto the grounds of the treatment plant. A small unknown amount of the 12,000 gallons entered the Dowagiac River. Flooding was under control within a few hours.
