Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

June 1, 1964=June 7, 2024

Barbara Dayhuff, 60, of Dowagiac, was born June 1, 1964, lived simply, and died peacefully Friday, June 7, 2024.
She lived at Manley Countryside Manor for over twenty years with the Brown family where she was known as “Barbie Doll.” They remember her as being a real card sometimes, very loving to all. She loved taking pictures of everyone and everything. Barbara would even lay out all her pictures and then take pictures of her pictures. She looked forward to going to the dances at the Elks Club. Her best buds were John, Ruthie, and Mark.
Barb’s hobbies were putting puzzles together, doing latch hook and coloring. She would do her alphabet and numbers on paper, over and over to get everyone’s approval. Barb loved Christmas and would holler at every gift she opened, saying, “I love it! I love it!”
Barbara worked at Woodlands Behavioral Health for fifteen years. She looked forward to going to work to see many of her co-workers, including — in no particular order — Bruce, Lynn, Joan, Michelle, Debbie, Eric, Denise, Nurse Pat and many other friends.
“Barbie Doll” will be greatly missed by her friends and those whom she considered family, especially Doreen Brown and Doreen’s mother, Sue Guess — whom Barbara called “Mom.”
Barbara will be laid to rest at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024 with a simple graveside ceremony in Riverside Cemetery, 201 Riverside Drive, Dowagiac.
