Edwardsburg wins Niles Doubles Tournament

NILES — Wolverine Conference foe Edwardsburg captured the Niles Doubles Tournament championship Saturday afternoon.

The Eddies scored 17 points to easily outdistance the runner-up Viking, who finished with nine points. Buchanan was third with seven points and Kalamazoo Central fourth with three points.

Winning flight championships were Edwardsburg’s Delaney Haradine and Ryleight Reynolds, who were 3-1 at No. 1 doubles. The Eddies’ Abby Pryor and Mya Eberlein went 3-1 to win the No. 2 doubles flight, while Mara VanBuren and Verona Moody, of Edwardsburg, where the No. 3 flight champions.

Edwardsburg’s Olivia Closson and Freudenburg went 3-1 to win at No. 4 doubles, while Kalamazoo Central’s Daniella Richardson and Nyah Montague were 3-1 to claim the No. 5 flight.

The sixth and final flight was won by the Eddies Julia Lewis and Erin Letter.
