Dowagiac Wrestling Club places five in the top eight at state

DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac Wrestling Club placed five wrestlers in the top eight at the MYWAY State Tournament, which was recently held.
Dowagiac had 16 boys and a pair of girls qualify for the state finals this year. They completed against 4,000 wrestlers from throughout the state of Michigan March 21 through March 24.
Marcus Ottinger was the top finisher as he placed third in the 109-pound division. Hunter Johnson was fourth in the 110-pound class.
Caspen Phillips and Manolo Vazquez both finished sixth in the 52 and 64 pound divisions, while Kristopher Tucker placed eighth in the 58-pound division.
