NILES — Just three days after Niles Community Schools received a false bomb threat, the district is once again on lockdown Monday afternoon.

Automated calls to parents said that the district was going into lock down at 1:10 p.m. due to threats against multiple buildings.

“Three schools, Ballard, Niles High School, and Eastside Connections, were named in a threat that was similar to ones made to other local school districts,” Niles Community Schools said in a statement. “Local police have completed their security and safety checks around these schools and all our schools across the district. At this time, they have not found the threat to be credible. Our first priority is to the safety of our students, so we will remain in a lockdown as a precautionary safety measure. School release will be conducted as normal and any changes will be communicated as quickly as possible.”

Berrien County dispatch confirmed that Niles Community Schools, as well as Brandywine Community Schools were both in lockdown.

This is a developing story, which will be updated as more information becomes available.
