Cassopolis woman injured when vehicle rear-ended in Penn Township

CASSOPOLIS — An 18-year-old Cassopolis women was injured when her vehicle was rear-ended near the intersection of M-60 and Shore Acres Road in Penn Township Saturday afternoon.
Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to investigate the personal injury accident at approximately 3:02 p.m.
Investigation shows that a vehicle driven by Skyler Szczepanski, 18, of Gobles, was traveling east bound on M-60 when he failed to stop in an assured clear distance crashing into the rear of the vehicle driven by Savannah Watson, 18, of Cassopolis, who was attempting to turn left into a private business.
Watson was transported by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
All involved parties wore seatbelts. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
Assisting in this crash was Central Cass Fire Department, Penn Township Fire Department, SMCAS Ambulance and Cassopolis Police Department.
