April 1, 1963-Dec. 11, 2023

Timothy Peter Rubalcaba, 60, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Monday, Dec. 11, 2023.
His life began April 1,1963, in Chicago, Illinois, the younger of two children born to Peter and Flena Rubalcaba.
Tim spent most of his life traveling the world, first as a high school exchange student to Bolivia, and later as an exchange student from Purdue University to Madrid, Spain. He returned to the United States to complete two Bachelor of Arts degrees at Purdue, and then returned to Spain once again, where he met and married his wife Nati. During the early years of their marriage, they lived in the United States while he completed his MBA in Marketing at Johns Hopkins. Upon graduating, he and Nati returned to Spain to start a family and raise their two sons.
For almost twenty years, Tim operated his own business in Tres Cantos, Spain – selling and distributing art for Exponente, S.A., and later for King & McGaw — Espana — across Spain, Portugal, and the Archipelagos. In more recent years, he became the Director of International Sales for Latin America for the J.W. Jones Company, and subsequently, for Terex Bid-Well. When not traveling for business, Tim made his home in Cassopolis to be near his parents, sister, and extended family. He was truly a Man of the World in the greatest sense – embracing experiences, cultures, and sharing his love of life and great humor with friends and strangers alike.
Tim will be terribly missed, and his absence will leave a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him here…and in the many places he visited around the world. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Natividad Serrano Cadahia; two sons, Peter Gabriel Rubalcaba Serrano, Alejandro Rubalcaba Serrano; parents, Peter and Flena Rubalcaba; one sister, Bernie (Darren) Williamson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held in Colmenar Viejo, Madrid, Spain on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2023.
Family and friends in the United States will gather for a continued Celebration of Life in Cassopolis, on a date and at a time to be announced.
The family prefers contributions in memory of Tim be made to the American Cancer Society, 129 Jefferson Avenue, Grand Rapids, Michigan 48823.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner Family Funerals Connelly Chapel, Cassopolis. Please share a memory or a message online: wagnercares.com
