White Pigeon rallies in second half to edge Rangers

CASSOPOLIS — Visiting White Pigeon outscored Cassopolis 35-24 to erase a six-point halftime deficit in its 52-47 Southwest 10 Conference boys basketball victory Thursday night.

The Rangers (1-2, 1-1 Southwest 10) led 11-9 after one quarter and 23-17 at halftime.

The Chiefs (3-2, 2-1 Southwest 10) was able to cut the lead by a point after three quarters (40-35) and then went on to outscore Cassopolis 17-7 in the final eight minutes to pull out the victory.

Jadyn Brown led the Rangers with 14 points, while Malachi Ward finished with 12 points. Kenny May and Da’Mario McNichols had nine and eight points, respectively.

May led Cassopolis with seven rebounds, while Brown had six rebounds. Ward finished the night with five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

 

Cassopolis at Bangor

Ward had 20 points to led the Rangers to a 68-26 victory over host Bangor in Southwest 10 action.

May finished with 14 points and Brown 10 points. McNichols added eight points.

May also grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with two assists, steals and blocks. Brown had seven rebounds, while Ward had nine steals and five assists.

Cassopolis is back in action Tuesday when it travels to Bloomingdale for another Southwest 10 Conference contest.
