Niles authorities seek help locating robbery suspect

NILES — The Niles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in the identification of a suspect involved in an armed robbery of Check into Cash, 726 S. 11th St., at approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Niles.

According to a NPD news release, the Niles Police Department responded to an armed robbery at the business, Check into Cash, located at 726 S. 11th St., Niles. Two unknown black males entered the business, armed with firearms, and demanded money from the registers and safe. The suspects subsequently fled the store on foot to an awaiting vehicle and left the scene westbound on Silverbrook Avenue.

There were no customers inside the business at the time of the robbery and the employees were unharmed. The first suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5’6″ in height, while the second suspect is also described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 6’0″ in height.

Captain Mitchell of the Niles Police Department asks anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, about the robbery to come forward and contact the police department at (269) 683-1313 or Crime Stoppers. 

The NPD urges the public to stay vigilant and be aware of their surroundings, especially during this holiday season. 

“It is important to prioritize safety and security, and we encourage everyone to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities,” the department said in a statement. “The Niles Police Department appreciates the community’s cooperation in this matter and reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.”
