DOWAGIAC — The community participated at a record level for the 2023 Soup Luncheon benefiting E. Root Fitch Camp. Soup sales and area donations resulted in a record donation of $2,700.

Xi Delta Mu Sorority, along with Kappa Beta, were thrilled with this year’s results.

The camp at Cable Lake has been a tradition for thousands of Dowagiac youth since 1941.   Fitch camp is open to Dowagiac elementary and middle school students. Public donations keep student costs of attendance, transportation, and meals to only $1 a day.

Fitch Camp is made possible by the support of volunteers, contributing donors and organizations from across the community, and former campers from across the country. Fitch Camp is a nonprofit agency dedicated to providing quality leadership and fun, to the youth of Dowagiac. The camp provides nature, sports, art, games and team activities.  But more importantly, Fitch Camp instills self-esteem and confidence, a mentoring atmosphere, peer acceptance and bonds that last a lifetime.
