Chester “Chet” was born in Niles, MI on March 31, 1976, to Deborah (Krukowski) Merrill and the late Chester Tyrakowski Sr. Chet graduated from Dowagiac Union High School and continued his education studying logistics at Central Michigan University. He was a resident of Portage, MI and an extremely valued employee at Getman Corporation where he received regular recognition of and was rewarded for his strong work ethic. Chet was a man devoted to God and family. He never missed the chance to send good night texts expressing his love to his mother and siblings. Chet is survived by his mother and step-father — Deborah (Andy) Merrill of Dowagiac; siblings — Debra (David) Ironside of Dowagiac, Chad (Sara) Tyrakowski, Chris (Jeff) Kroepel of Dowagiac, and Toni (Matthew) Watters of Lansing; and many nieces, nephews, a large extended family, and friends. Chet was loved unconditionally and is/will be missed by many.

Front St., Dowagiac on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, for Prayer of the Most Holy Rosary from 9:30 a.m.-10 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial, graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, and a visitation/luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m.
