Jerry L. Clinton, 66, of Decatur, died peacefully Tuesday, July 13, 2021 after an extended Illness.
He was born August 3, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to K. C. and Inez Clinton. He married Phyllis Ann Rowan May 23, 1997 in Centreville, Michigan. Jerry served honorably as an Airman M.P. at Beale Air Force Base. He was most proud of the number of people he was able to help as an Addiction Counselor for the City of South Bend, Indiana. Jerry will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Phyllis Clinton; his mother, Inez Chambers of Chicago; one daughter, Dorothy Inez (Morris) Ross of Chicago; two stepsons, John Rowan of Bloomingdale, Michigan, Eric (Diana) Rowan of Cassopolis; two chosen sons, twins Fredric Clinton and Cedric (LaDonna) Clinton, both of Chicago; two chosen daughters, twins Katrina Clinton and Salina Clinton, both of Chicago; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Kathryn (Julius) Owens of Chicago; two brothers, K. C. Clinton of Louisiana, Joseph (David Daniels) Chambers, M.D. of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Al James Clinton. The family will observe a private celebration of his life. The family prefers contributions in memory of Jerry be made payable to Wagner Family Funerals to help defray final expenses.
