Berrien County reports three additional COVID-19 deaths

SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — The death toll of COVID-19 continues to rise in southwest Michigan.

Monday, Berrien County reported three additional COVID-19 deaths, bringing the county’s to date death toll to 25. The three new deaths included two adult men over the age of 80 and one woman over the age of 90. All three had underlying medical conditions.

As of 3 p.m. Monday, Berrien County reported 401 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with an additional 175 presumed positive cases. According to numbers released by the Berrien County Health Department, 227 COVID-19 patients in the county have recovered from the virus.

Across county lines, Van Buren County also reported an additional two deaths since Friday, bringing its total death count to four. As of 3 p.m. Monday, the Van Buren/Cass District Health Department reported 93 confirmed cases and 26 recoveries.

Also Monday, Cass County reported 42 COVID-19 cases, two deaths and 18 recoveries.

Statewide, Michigan has seen 47,552 cases, 4,584 deaths and 22,686 recoveries.
