NILES — Beginning on Monday, Niles City Hall will only be open for essential business. The city is requesting that citizens use the telephone or use the website at nilesmi.org/how_do_i/contact2.php whenever possible to contact city offices and departments. The city’s main phone number is (269) 683-4700. The city’s staff is prepared to address the vast majority of our citizens’ needs including utility-related items such as payments and service issues in this manner.

The city’s payment drop box is available 24/7 and is located on the east side of the City Hall’s driveway near the drive-thru window. The city’s drive-thru window is available during business hours. Customers also have the option of directing utility payments from their bank account for no additional fee or making payments with a credit card with an additional customer service charge. The city also offers online payment of utilities at paydici.com/niles-mi-utilities.

Entry to City Hall will be restricted to the south building entrance, and visitors will be screened for their needs, then directed to the appropriate department or provided with alternative methods of resolving their needs.

These precautions are in place to help ensure that city staff remains available to provide essential services to the community while we navigate the CORVID-19 threat. This change in service will be reevaluated in 30 days and corresponds with the resumption of K-12 classes. The city will continually monitor this situation and normal operations could resume sooner than expected or be extended based on advice from the Department of Health
