BENTON HARBOR — GhostLight Productions, Inc. and its performance company, The GhostLight Theatre, announced its 2020 season Monday.

“We are incredibly excited about these three very different yet beautiful pieces of theater which all serve to highlight and celebrate the human condition in a myriad of ways,” said artistic director Paul Mow. “We look forward to sharing these three pieces of theater with our southwest Michigan audiences who may not have seen these shows previously.”

Mow, working with three talented directors including Niles’ August Garritano, selected the following play and two musicals as GhostLight’s sophomore season productions. They will be performed at The GhostLight Theatre, 101 Hinkley St., Benton Harbor.

• May 7 to 17 — “Significant Other

This romantic comedy about four friends in their late 20s and their search for relationships in 21st Century New York City. It will have eight performances Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays May 7 to 17. The play by Joshua Harmon will be directed by Les Rorick, of The Den Theatre in Chicago.

• June 11 to 21 — “The Light in the Piazza”

The Tony Award-winning musical centers on American Margaret Johnson, who travels across Europe in 1953 with her daughter, Clara. While in Florence, Italy, Clara falls in love with a young Italian.

There will be eight performances of this musical written by Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas and directed at GhostLight by Patric Ross and Joshua Goines.

• Aug. 13 to 23 — “A New Brain”

This semi-autobiographical musical is about a composer facing a sudden life-threatening illness and the healing power of art.
