NILES — A total of 18 Niles athletes earned SMAC All-West or All-Conference honors for the fall sports seasons.

First-team selections were Javond Ball and Leon Williams in football, Drew Gourlay and Andrew Boling in boys soccer, as well as Kaylee Thompson and Adam Shepherd in cross country.

Gourley also earned first-team Division 1/2 Academic All-State in football from the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association.

Niles also earned honorable mention academic all-state in football.
