Cass County resident hit while riding bike

JONES — A Jones, Michigan, resident was treated for injuries sustained in a bicycle accident Jan. 26.

Around 6:37 p.m., David Hutchins, 57, was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike on M-40 in Newberg Township. Newberg Township EMS transported him to Three Rivers Health Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, was uninjured. Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke said alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash.

Assisting agencies included the Newberg Township Fire Department and Three Rivers Ambulance Service.
