People of our area are reminded that the Michigan Presidential primary will be held on March 10, 2020.

We should all take the time to educate ourselves on the voting laws, including the changes of 2018, i.e. same day registration, absentee voting without need of reason (for life if desired) tribal ID and student ID are valid IDs at the polls, the fact that felons can vote and straight ticket voting is still a right.

Equally important, learn all you can about the many qualified candidates. Some you may know, some not so much. Some may surprise you! Find the candidate that makes sense to you.

It is said “all politics are local.” While that is true, it’s also personal.

So: exercise your right, fulfill your obligation, vote your conscience.
